Bita Minaravesh, a mixed-methods researcher, is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the USC Equity Research Institute (ERI). She holds a PhD in population, health, and place from the University of Southern California; an MPH in global health leadership from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California; and a BA in neurobiology from the University of California, Berkeley, where she minored in art history. Her dissertation focused on the relationship between natural environmental determinants of early cognitive development. With a discussion equally invested in human rights, regression models, and integrating community voices, her research maintained a spatiotemporal and interdisciplinary focus. In collaboration with the National Equity Atlas, she continues to explore the state of environmental and economic equity across California. She also remains committed to using a lens of intersectionality to promote every child’s opportunity to realize their universal right to self-determination.
