Biography

Monique Guevara, Senior Associate within the PolicyLink just society portfolio, works to eliminate unjust fines and fees and transform the economy and criminal-legal system through advocacy, research, and movement building. Formerly, Monique served as Strategic Initiatives Advisor for the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, managing external affairs efforts to create racially just, long-term planning and policy outcomes across the city in the areas of community and economic development, land use, transportation, public safety, housing, historic preservation, and crisis response. She previously worked as a policy analyst for the Seattle Office of Police Accountability (OPA), where she created innovative and racially equitable communications solutions to transform policy and procedure within OPA and the Seattle Police Department. Monique holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California, Riverside and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Washington, Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. Monique is an Oakland native who is currently getting to know her new home in the Bronx.
